DÉSOLÉE POUR LES TACHES DE CHIPS
project by Federica Fantini
Désolée pour les taches de chips takes you on a mock tour of the memories of the Marolles.
The artist invites those who inhabit - or wish to inhabit - the Marolles to share their memories with her, playing with the truthfulness of memory itself. Blurring the lines between history, memory and fiction, Désolée pour les taches de chips invites individuals to become community and to appropriate the fabric of the neighbourhood.
Federica Fantini is an Italian-born emerging writer working on developing a methodology to create narrations that blur the lines between memories, half-truth, desires, and history. Master graduate in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at Leiden University, they spent 6 years in Berlin working in the socio-cultural sector. They are now based in Brussels where they mainly work as a freelance translator.
Federica is mostly interested in the political value of art: as an intersectional feminist, they are currently also reflecting on how to incorporate their work on gender-based violence and discrimination into their artistic practice.
