- Shall I wash my mouth? -
by
Davide Paollilo & Edoardo Parente
a 45 min live performance
Once the laws of a system can no longer been discerned or applied, when the system is overtaken by its own component, it’s in that moment that the “unexpected” generates constant contradictions, a permanent state of unstable, which allows a continuous exploratory dialogue between users and medium, users themselves and users and audience. - Shall I wash my mouth? - is a live performance for percussion, voice and no-input mixer which spans the fields of experimental electroacoustic music and performance poetry. The work investigates the use of errors, flow interruptions and self-regulating behaviours in the context of artistic creation and performance.-

bios:
Davide Paolillo (*92) is an Italian composer based in Brussels. Interested in sound’s physical aspect and on the composer-performer relationship, his compositional practice finds its base on the direct experimentation on the instruments through the employment of everyday objects, preparations, deformation of the instrument’s physicality and use of amplification, electronics and creative coding.
Edoardo Parente (*98) is an Italian percussionist and performer currently living in Brussels. His works, all coming from extra-musical sources of inspiration, are based on combining purely musical practice and the performative aspects of musical theatre in micro-systems with their own musical rules and gestures.
